The Wild Life Protection Society established the Turtle Hatchery in 1981 as a prominent turtle breeding place. Huge tanks of young turtle hatchlings may be seen by visitors. The newborn turtles are carried to the water after being fed and released when they are 2-4 days old, generally during the safer hours of night.
