Kandy –Nuwara Eliya

It was also called as “Little England” by the British, who attempted to transform Nuwara Eliya into a normal English settlement. The ancient brick post office, the country house-like hill club with its hunting portraits, trophies, and stringent formal dinner clothing; the 18-hole golf course, the horse racing track, and so on, all have an “England” feel to them.

Haggala is a temperate hill-country garden filled with languid low-country lotus and water lilies that float in their tranquil beauty.

Ella is a tiny mountain community in the vicinity of Bandarawela. The first is the Ravana Ella Cave, which is located near the enormous Ella Falls, a breathtaking 1080-foot-high waterfall that flows into multiple falls. The waterfall’s stony core is Khondalite, a kind of limestone that decays faster than hard gneiss or granite. As a result, several caverns have developed near the falls. It is supposed that King Ravana dwelt in one of the caves above the waterfall.

A boat trip down the Madhu River will be included in your city tour. The Wild Life Protection Society established the Turtle Hatchery in 1981 as a prominent turtle breeding place. Visitors may observe massive tanks loaded with newly hatched turtle hatchlings.
