Nuwara Eliya, which is surrounded by hills and tea plantations, has spring-like weather all year. It was also called as “Little England” by the British, who attempted to transform Nuwara Eliya into a normal English settlement. The ancient brick post office, the country house-like hill club with its hunting portraits, trophies, and stringent formal dinner clothing; the 18-hole golf course, the horse racing track, and so on, all have an “England” feel to them.
